Margaret Moth, the CNN 'Fearless' photojournalist, died today in a hospice in Rochester, Minnesota after three years of battle with colon cancer. She was 59.
Moth was born Margaret Wilson in New Zealand. She later changed her name to a monicker Margaret Moth, named after her skydiving from a friend's Tiger Moth plane.
Through the years she has been a deidcated photojournalist and this has been her passion until she died. It does matter to her wheter the situation or scene she captures in documenting breaking news around the world is dangerous and would mean losing her own life. With this dedication to her job, Moth was dubbed as Fearless journalist by CNN.
In 1993 Moth faced the biggest obstacle caused by her job when she was hit by on the face by sniper fire while on assignment with her colleagues.But after her recovery she returned to her job without questioning and blaming her profession for she became before.
In 2007 Moth was diagnosed with colon cancer and begun her treatment. She was then brought to a hospice in Ronchester, Minessota in September 2009 for further treatment. She died Sunday March 21, 2010 in the same hospice.
