CHARICE will finally appear on the hit and award-winning TV musical show Glee for its second season. She will be playing the role of a foreign exchange student whose powerful voice will put Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) in a tremendous shame in an 'anticipatedly' tough talent competition.
Recently, rumors came online that the 18-year old Filipina singing sensation will appear on Glee after her Philippines manager confirmed to the local media that her talent will be joining the cast. Charice later denied this on her Twitter post.
After the denial post, the pop singer posted earlier today confirming that she will be on the show.
“It’s official. I’m on Glee (next season) but story behind it. When the rumor came out, it wasn’t true…but then after that, I tried to audition. And i made it!!! Let’s Party!!!!”
Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly first posted this news in his blog The Ausiello Files.
"Sources confirm to me exclusively that the international pop star is signed, sealed, and delivered to recur next season as a foreign exchange student whose killer vocals get Rachel (Lea Michele) contemplating murder,” Ausiello wrote.
Born Charmaine Clarice Relucio Pempengco, Charice was raised in the Philippines by her single mom. She joined more than a hundred of singing competitions in her home land to help her mom earn money for food. Her fame started when he made it to the final round of the American-Idol-like show Little Big Star in the Philippines. One of her fans posted her performance on YouTube. The video became viral until Oprah Winfrey came to know her.
She penetrated the US music industry through her number one fan Oprah Winfrey who dubbed her the 'Most Talemted Girl in the World'. The Queen of Talk later introduced her to David Foster who is now her mentor.
